PRIVACY BOUNDARY
No Side Whisper cloud transcription service.
Audio is recorded, converted, transcribed, corrected, and expanded on the device. Temporary files are removed during normal operation. The final text can remain in Windows clipboard history or the destination app, based on those systems’ behavior.
- Microphone recordings are not sent to the Side Whisper account backend
- Transcripts are not uploaded to the Side Whisper website
- Models download only when you request them
- Dictionary and Snippets remain local and exportable
- Near-silence and repeated-phrase cleanup happen locally
MODELS
Choose speed, language reach, and accuracy.
Smaller models start faster and use less memory. Large models improve recognition and multilingual reach. Downloads continue in the main process if Settings closes, then a native Side Whisper notification confirms completion.
